Sizing
How do I know my size?
Please view our sizing chart before ordering! Traditional men’s & women's belt sizes do not correlate with pant sizes and they are different from one brand to the next.
If you aren’t sure about your size, please contact us and we’d be happy to help.
The cuff size guide is on the same page.
Are belts the same for men and women?
All of our belts are unisex - both in style and size. But sizing differs between men's & women’s apparel and belts, so be sure to use our sizing chart!

Product
What materials are used to make Old Stud products?
We use only full-grain leather on all of our belts & cuffs. Specific studs, stones, crystals, buckles, and gems are all described on product pages.
How are the belts and cuffs made?
All of our pieces are handmade in the U.S.A, out of our Norwalk studio. See our Craftmandship page for more details.
Do you use full-grain leather?
Always! Full-grain leather is more durable, more breathable, softens over time, and resists cracking.
Are your belts vintage?
Yes and no. All of our made-to-order belts are inspired by vintage styles and we use only old-school leatherworking methods. We call this “vintage revival”.
Additionally, we have a collection of vintage belts available at all times (one size only, final sale).
We also have an archive of leather straps that we will stud and rehabilitate into one-of-a-kind belts and post on our vintage page.
Are your belts Eco-Friendly?
Yes! Our leather is chrome-free and tanned using a vegetable-based process that eliminates heavy metals and significantly reduces pollution. All of our hides are reclaimed byproducts of the food industry, helping to minimize waste. This process also avoids the environmental drawbacks of synthetic vegan alternatives.
*Some of our belts feature hand painted leather, which will be specified.
Can I switch the stone or leather color of one of your belts before purchasing?
Yes! All of our belts are made to order, so if you like a style but prefer a different leather or a different color stone, send us an email at info@oldstudhandmade.com and we'll get back to you quickly.
Keep in mind, the production time may take longer.
Customized belts are all final sale.
Can I customize or design my own belt?
YES! View our customization page to learn more or contact us to begin the process.
Customized belts are all final sale.
What is the difference between a grommet and a stud?
A grommet is a metal ring often used to reinforce a hole - leaving the hole open and visible to the eye.
Studs are decorative embellishments that rise above the leather. We use setters to stamp & hold our studs in place - we never, ever glue them on.
