Time-honored handmade craftsmanship. Low environmental impact.
Every one of our products is crafted entirely by hand in our own workshop in Norwalk, CT, using traditional tools and time-honored techniques. Each piece begins with a carefully selected hide, chosen not only for its quality but also for its earth-friendly, low-impact characteristics.
Every strap is hand-cut, the edges meticulously finished, then measured and punched with precision. Our signature designs are vintage revival - all inspired by vintage pieces collected over decades. Each stud, stone or crystal is applied one by one, held by a setter which is fastened to the leather using a traditional kickpress. This method ensures the studs always stay in place. We never, ever glue studs or stones onto the leather.
All of our leather hides are “chrome free”, dyed through vegetable tanning- a time-honored method utilizing natural tannins from plants. This is often referred to as “organic” tanning because it employs natural plant resources like tree bark, leaves, and fruits. This slow, deliberate process preserves the full-grain qualities of the hide, produces a more durable leather, and develops unique characteristics and a rich patina over time.*
Vegetable tanning also ensures maximum leather longevity, allowing your belt to maintain its integrity for decades to come. Additionally, the removal of chemicals and heavy metals from the tanning process greatly reduces environmental pollution.
We do not believe in mass production - our process is entirely manual, guided by skill and intention. As a final touch, we use a branding iron to burn our mark into the leather - a lasting signature of authenticity and craft.
NOTE: Some of our belts are hand-painted in-house to achieve unique colors like lavender, pink, and red. This will always be noted on the product description.
